Originally intended to serve the village people it was seen as a way of introducing Ashram values into the young as well as healthy good habits through Ashram cooked and prepared vegetarian morning meals.

The teaching staff is now provided by the government with the Ashram providing the qualified teachers aide/s to represent the Ashram, with the prospect of these aides one day securing full time teaching position.

Apart from the normal kindergarten activities the children also learn traditional Balinese dances that they perform at the end of the year or term.
